Careers

Want to be part of the loveliest team around?

We’re on the lookout for a new team member to help us on a casual, more ad hoc basis…

This person needs to be flexible, reliable and available to help out, sometimes at short notice, during busy periods (half terms, weekends etc) and to cover holidays.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to pick up a few extra hours around other work or children, or getting back into work.
Whilst hours aren’t guaranteed, we’re always in need of a helping hand!

What's the role?

You’ll be running the Little Pottery Painting Co show, sometimes on your own and sometimes alongside another team member. You'll be getting the shop ready for customers, greeting customers and making sure they know what to do during their time with us and guiding them through the pottery painting process.

You’ll also be on barista duty, taking orders and making delicious hot and cold drinks including frappes, crushed coolers, speciality drinks and barista style coffee. After customers leave, you’ll be cleaning up nice and quick, ready to welcome customers for the next painting session.

But there’s so much more to the job too. We pride ourselves on creating exceptional experiences for our customers through engaging meaningfully with everyone who walks through our doors and maintaining the studio to a really high standard, making sure it’s always clean, tidy and super welcoming.

Who're we looking for?

We’re searching for someone with…

  • 1+ years experience in customer service and/or hospitality (and who enjoys it)

  • A mature demeanour and a track record of being responsible and reliable

  • An outgoing, bubbly, friendly and welcoming personality

  • Heaps of enthusiasm that you can direct into helping our customers have the best time in the studio

  • High standards for your work

  • A keen eye for detail

  • High standards of cleanliness

  • Barista training is a bonus but not essential

You’ll need to be a people-person through and through, ready to host people of all ages. We want each of our customers to feel very welcome and we always promote building a rapport with regular customers to ensure they feel valued and as if they can come alone but always have a friend in the shop (you). You'll need a keen eye for detail too, and high standards for creating a clean and tidy environment.

The studio can be a fast paced place to work so at times you’ll need to be ready and raring to go, able to prioritise tasks and be speedy yet thorough. In the slow times, you’ll need to be self-motivated to get the ‘behind the scenes’ tasks done that keep the studio running.

What do we offer?

All in all, it’s a fun, creative and inclusive place to work, with wonderful customers we get to welcome into the studio and help. We’re a small and super friendly team and - we like to think - a lot of fun to work with. Plus, you’ll get staff discount on pottery, food and drink!

You'll receive starter training to ensure you can hit the ground running.

The role is paid at minimum wage rate.

Do you think you’re who we’re looking for?

If you feel you’d be a great fit, or you know someone who might be… please send over a CV and covering letter (applications without this will not be considered) to hello@thelittlepotterypaintingco.co.uk

Application closing date: Open until we find our next team member.
